The Daybreak is a powerful weapon that made its debut appearance in Together mode in Kid Icarus: Uprising. In the Super Smash Bros. series, the Daybreak appears as an item in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Like the Dragoon, the Daybreak is split into three parts that a fighter must collect before they can use it. Once the Daybreak has been assembled, the fighter can fire a continuous powerful laser across the stage that deals high damage and knockback, and can penetrate through any opponent's shield. The fighter can walk around and jump before firing, and can drop it by either grabbing a ledge or getting hit enough, allowing another player to pick it up and immediately use it.
In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, there is a collectible trophy of a Daybreak. In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, it can be obtained by clearing the event match The Break of Day.
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, there is a spirit of a Daybreak.
