Dr. Wright is a tutor and advisor from the Super Nintendo version of SimCity. He is loosely based on Will Wright, the original designer for the SimCity series. His first Super Smash Bros.-related appearance is in Super Smash Bros. Melee, as a trophy.

Starting with Super Smash Bros. Brawl, he appears as an Assist Trophy. When released, Dr. Wright attacks opponents by using his pointer stick to pull a skyscraper from the ground, sending them flying upwards. The attack is executed right in front of Dr. Wright and the vertical range is very high, so fighters should run away immediately after he is released. There is a one-in-ten chance that Dr. Wright will summon a particularly large skyscraper for even more range and power.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, there is a spirit of Dr. Wright.
