A Drop Block is a type of platform that only appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as a Stage Builder part. It is a sand-colored block with an orange upside-down triangle (indicating a down arrow). Drop Blocks function identically to Donut Blocks from the Mario franchise, because when a character stands on a Drop Block, it begins to fall. After a few seconds, the Drop Block regenerates.

A different type of Drop Block appears in a few levels of The Subspace Emissary. These ones are thinner, dark brown in color, and instead depict a yellow upside-down triangle. These Drop Blocks fall faster and do not regenerate after falling. They are usually placed over a stage hazard, such as a pit or spikes.
