Andross is the main antagonist of the Star Fox series. Formerly a scientist for the Cornerian Defense Force, he was banished to the planet Venom after his experiments had gone wrong and amassed his own army to invade and conquer the Lylat System.
In Super Smash Bros. Melee, Andross has two trophies: one uses his appearance from the first Star Fox game, and the other uses his appearance from Star Fox 64. The former trophy shows Andross spitting several panels, and the latter trophy shows an Arwing shooting lasers at the palm of Andross's hand.
Starting with Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Andross has appeared as an Assist Trophy in every Super Smash Bros. game. Andross's appearance and attack are reused from the original Star Fox. When released from an Assist Trophy, Andross hovers in the background and attacks by firing polygons from his mouth that damage opponents upon contact. Andross disappears after a short time has passed. Super Smash Bros. Brawl features an Andross trophy, which is based on his Star Fox appearance, and it shows Andross spitting panels while an Arwing maneuvers around them.
The paired games Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U share a trophy of Andross, which is based on his Star Fox appearance. In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS there is also an exclusive trophy of Andross's true form.
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, there are two Andross spirits, which are based on his appearance in Star Fox and Star Fox 64 3D respectively. The Andross (Star Fox 64 3D) spirit is enhanceable, and once it reaches level 99, it can be upgraded to depict Andross's true form.
