Fairies are a species from The Legend of Zelda franchise. In several of his journeys, Link has a fairy for a partner, most notably Navi from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. In games starting with Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, a fighter can use a Fairy Bottle as an item to release a fairy, who then restores their entire health upon being released.
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, during one of Link's three different taunts, Link allows the fairy flutter around him for a few seconds. After doing so, the fairy returns into Link's clothing. A fairy also briefly appears in Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary. Link and the fairy are traveling through a forest in search of the Master Sword. After Link stops when the Halberd flies over them, the fairy continues to fly off-screen. The fairy resembles Navi, but is most likely based on the fairy who appears as a cursor in the Wii version of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, as Link is designed after his appearance from the game.
