The Fighting Wire Frames are enemies that appear in Super Smash Bros. Melee, and they are the successor to the Fighting Polygons from the original Super Smash Bros.. Fighting Wire Frames are mysterious characters that made from purple wires with visible internal organs and the Super Smash Bros. series symbol for a face. There are Male Wire Frames and Female Wire Frames, which respectively share the moveset and bodies of Captain Falcon and Princess Zelda, not including their special moves. According to the Male Wire Frame trophy, they were built by an unknown character.
In some modes, Fighting Wire Frames are fought on the Battlefield stage. Nearly every attack can send Fighting Wire Frames flying off-screen. Although they are generally weak, many Fighting Wire Frames spawn on the Battlefield at once, making them stronger when they fight together. In Adventure mode, the 11th stage, Battlefield, starts with the player's fighter having to battle Fighting Wire Frames. After defeating every Fighting Wire Frame, the player's fighter must then fight Metal Mario (and Metal Luigi if Luigi is unlocked).
Every Multi-Man Melee mode is based around battling the Fighting Wire Frames. In Cruel Melee, all Fighting Wire Frames are strong, formidable opponents that are hard to KO, and they are capable of KO'ing fighters with low damage.
Fighting Wire Frames were replaced by the Fighting Alloy Team in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and the Fighting Mii Team in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U.
