Groudon is a Ground-type Legendary Pokémon who debuted in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire Versions, and it is the mascot of Pokémon Ruby Version. It is a Legendary Pokémon that can create landmasses, and it rivals Kyogre. Groudon's first Super Smash Bros.-related appearance is in Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Game appearances[edit]

Super Smash Bros. Brawl[edit]

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Groudon is rarely spawned from a Poké Ball. Groudon attacks by using Overheat, in which it creates a glowing, fiery aura to surround it. If a fighter touches the aura, they get knocked back with slight damage. Groudon's size prevents opponents from easily avoiding it, and it occasionally turns to the other side of the stage.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U[edit]

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Groudon makes his second appearance as a trophy. Like most trophies, Groudon's trophy description is different for the North American and European versions, although it is only the last sentence which is different.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, there is a spirit of Groudon, and once it reaches level 99, it can be enhanced to Primal Groudon.

Legend has it that Groudon actually created the continents. It has a rivalry with Kyogre, said to have created the oceans, and they apparently had an epic battle long ago. Perhaps our world was born from this great battle between land and sea.
