Helirin is a vehicle from the Kururin series. It is a yellow and blue helicopter-like vehicle with large wings that slowly rotates. In Kuru Kuru Kururin, Kururin's siblings are suddenly missing. Teacher Hare teaches Kururin how to pilot the Helirin in order to search for his missing siblings. Every time the Helirin hits a wall or obstacle, it sustains damage.
The Helirin first appears as a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the Helirin appears as an uncommon Assist Trophy. When summoned, the Helirin slowly rotates clockwise or counter-clockwise. Rather than attacking, the Helirin serves as an extra platform. However, the Helirin can also serve as a wall and may deter recovery attempts back onto the stage, including those of the fighter who summoned it. Helirin does not return as an Assist Trophy in later Super Smash Bros. games, although in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, there is a spirit of Helirin.
