Iridescent Glint Beetles are enemies from Pikmin 2 that drop various helpful items when hit by Pikmin.
In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, Iridescent Glint Beetles appear very infrequently in Smash Run, behaving as they did in their original series. Although they are enemies, Iridescent Glint Beetles cannot harm the fighter, and when attacked, drop gold of varying amounts (dependent on how powerful the attack was). After being damaged a certain amount of times, or after a certain amount of time passes, they burrow into the ground. If the damage limit is reached, they will be invulnerable before they dig underground.
Unlike most subjects, Iridescent Glint Beetles have a different trophy in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, there is a spirit of an Iridescent Glint Beetle.

Enemy |  Hope you're not scared of bugs... In Pikmin, these guys drop nectar, but in Smash Run they drop coins instead. They hide, waiting for fighters to get too close...then strike! They're tough to catch, but your reward for success is coins, coins, coins. They'll slink away to sulk after being properly robbed. Hope you're not scared of insects... These guys can drop nectar in Pikmin, but in this game, they carry coins instead. They'll leap out of the ground when a fighter gets close, and scurry around madly. They're hard to hit, but you'll just have to keep at it if you want these coins! Once they've dropped all their spoils, they'll go underground and sulk. Aw.
