Lylat Cruise is a Star Fox stage introduced in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and it later returned in both Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Unlike most other Star Fox stages, Lylat Cruise takes place on a ship called the Pleiades, instead of the Great Fox, as it passes through the Lylat System. Although the fighters are in outer space, the gravity remains normal, which has even been pointed out on the Smash Bros. DOJO!!.

During the stage, the Pleiades plunges through many obstacles, including the Core of an asteroid, in the atmosphere of Corneria, and through a space battle. There are Arwings that also shoot at the fighters on the stage, just like in other Star Fox-themed stages. Fox McCloud, Falco Lombardi, and Wolf O'Donnell can communicate with other Star Fox and Star Wolf members by using their Smash Taunts, similar to how Solid Snake can communicate to other Metal Gear characters on Shadow Moses Island. Barrels and Crates in this stage take the "futuristic" style.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Lylat Cruise has a minor role in Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary. After defeating Tabuu, an extra red door appears in the The Ruins. Entering it takes the character to the Lylat Cruise, where they must battle Wolf, whom they must defeat to unlock him as a fighter. Outside of Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary, Falco's unlock match also takes place in Lylat Cruise, as well as Wolf's if his unlock match is accessed through alternate means.

The Final Destination variant in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate does not tilt and removes the three smaller platforms. The main platform is completely flat. The stage does not warp and only features the Star Fox and Star Wolf dogfight.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Lylat Cruise's design was updated to have a Star Fox Zero aesthetic. This is especially noticeable for the aircraft, such as the Arwings. Like in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Wolf's unlock match takes place at Lylat Cruise, although Falco's does not.
