Meowth is a Normal-type Pokémon which debuted in Pocket Monsters Red and Green Versions (released internationally as Pokémon Red and Blue Versions). It appears as a Poké Ball Pokémon in every Super Smash Bros. game except Super Smash Bros. Melee.
In Super Smash Bros., when released from a Poké Ball, Meowth attacks using Pay Day, by shooting coins in four directions. Starting with Super Smash Bros. Brawl, it instead shoots coins to the left or right, turning to the direction of the nearest opponent when necessary.
In Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, there is a trophy of Meowth. In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Meowth's trophy is obtained by clearing the "Jackpot Opportunity" event.

Trivia[edit]
- Meowth's trophy and its description in Super Smash Bros. Melee references Meowth's Party, one of the ending segments of the Pokémon anime in Japan, with a tech demo under the same name and with a similar premise later shown off for the Nintendo GameCube.
