Pass-through platforms[1] are a type of platform in the Super Smash Bros. series that characters can jump on from the bottom or fall through by quickly tilting down on the left analog stick or tapping , depending on the control method. Such platforms are also featured in both the Mario and Kirby franchises. Pass-through platforms in areas unique to Super Smash Bros., such as Battlefield, could be based on those found in either franchise.
Game appearances[edit]
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U[edit]
In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, Semisolid Platforms from the Mario franchise appear in the Golden Plains stage. They are designed after the solid, tree-like platforms from New Super Mario Bros. 2, but have the same function as pass-through platforms in the Super Smash Bros. series.
In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, such platforms also appear in Mushroom Kingdom U, using its design from New Super Mario Bros. U like the stage itself.
