A Poppant is a rare enemy in the Subspace Army which first appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The Poppant is a cowardly enemy, running away from the player on sight. If the player decides to run after it, it will drop various items, some that will damage the player and some that heal the player. It also sports a pair of very large trousers that hold the items dropped.

Poppants return in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS as enemies in Smash Run. Defeating one yields only an item.

The boxes are even carefully tied with ribbons. It demonstrates its generosity by scattering its boxes as it wanders, but if it's seen, it will immediately flee at top speed. It redefines the word shy. No one knows why it spends its time scattering presents.
