Ray Mk III, sometimes mistakenly referred to as Custom Robo,[1] is the latest robo of the Ray series and first appears in Custom Robo Arena. It is given to the player character as a gift after impressing the president of the robo research and manufacturing company, NeoBrain.
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Ray Mk III is an unlockable Assist Trophy. He can be unlocked by playing at least 100 matches in Brawl or its related modes. Being a toy, it is very small, but it is able to fly around the stage at fast speeds. While attacking, it alternates between the two guns in its hands, firing bullets from its left and missiles from its right. The bullets are released in quick volleys and the missiles are single-fire that home in on opponents. It does not return as an Assist Trophy in subsequent titles.
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Ray Mk III appears as the enhanced spirit of Ray Mk II.
