A Stalfos is a recurring enemy from The Legend of Zelda franchise, debuting in the original The Legend of Zelda. They appear as enemies in the Smash Run mode of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and in the Classic mode of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, as enemies fought within Master Fortress. Their design is taken from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Stalfos walk slowly left to right, and attack when the fighter is near, while they sometimes jump backward to position themselves. They can block the players' attacks with their shield, although they are vulnerable from attacks from above, below, or behind. There is additionally a slight moment in which the Stalfos lowers its shield, where the player can attack. The Stalfos attack with their sword, with a three-slash combo or a jump attack.

They're vulnerable to attacks from behind while defending, though, so try to hit them there while they're shielding to take them down!
