Temple, also named Hyrule Temple,[1][2] is a The Legend of Zelda-themed stage which first appears in Super Smash Bros. Melee, in which it is notably the largest stage. The stage is not based on any specific area, but it is based on the various temples and castles that Link visits in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. The stage's main theme is derived from the locations in that game as well. The unlock match for Roy takes place here, and an arrangement of the recruitment and title themes from Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light serves as the stage's alternate background music, as there is no Fire Emblem stage in the game. In subsequent Super Smash Bros. titles, this arrangement plays on Castle Siege.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the Temple makes another appearance. Unlike other returning stages, the Temple features a new unlockable arrangement of the stage's music, known as "Great Temple / Temple."

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, both the standard and Final Destination variants of the Temple are selectable in 8-Player Smash. The Final Destination form takes place on a flat platform in midair. Parts of the standard Temple stage can be seen in the background.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the Temple makes its third reappearance. It is similar to its Super Smash Bros. for Wii U incarnation, and is where the unlock match for Zelda takes place.
