Tingle is a recurring character from the The Legend of Zelda series. He is a middle-aged man who wears a skintight, green suit and has an obsession with fairies. In the The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tingle provides the player with maps of the various areas in the game, and in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Tingle translates the Triforce Charts.

In the Super Smash Bros. series, Tingle makes his debut in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Based on his appearance in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, he appears at various points on the the Great Bay stage, floating in mid-air with his balloon. Tingle's balloon can be used as an extra platform, although it sink slowly when stood on. The balloon can also be popped, dropping Tingle onto the stage or into the water.

Tingle later appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U as an Assist Trophy, this time being his incarnation in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. When summoned, he will perform his "Kooloo-Limpah" dance and a random event will happen. These events include spawning multiple Hammers and Golden Hammers, having everyone under the effects of the Superspicy Curry item, making all the opponents slip for a few seconds, zooming the camera in on the character who summoned Tingle, or even doing nothing and flying away with his balloons.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Tingle does not return as an Assist Trophy, although he is featured as a spirit.
