- “I WILL NEVER FORGIVE THESE HUMANS! It's an affront to nature and must be destroyed immediately! Think about it! Every action has a butterfly effect. Who knows what kind of impact it could have on the ecosystem!”
- – Viridi, after being told the origin of Mewtwo, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Viridi is the goddess of nature and leader of the Forces of Nature in Kid Icarus: Uprising; while she starts as an antagonist in the game trying to destroy the human race and replenish nature, she later joins in the effort to defeat Hades. She generally engages in banter with Palutena and Pit while discussing the many fighters such as Luigi and Princess Peach. In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, it is revealed that Viridi is a huge fan of the Piranha Plant species and even wrote a thesis on it; she then rattles off almost every major Piranha Plant species, irritating both Pit and Palutena. Hynden Walch voiced Viridi in Kid Icarus: Uprising, and reprises her role here, though she is not listed in the in-game credits. As of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, she is now voiced by Dayci Brookshire,[1] with her recycled lines from Super Smash Bros. for Wii U re-recorded as well. In the Japanese version, she is voiced by Makiko Ōmoto, who also voices Kirby and Ness, as well as Lyn in the Japanese version, and one of the voice types for Mii Fighters in Ultimate, for both games.
Oddly, similar to ROB 64, despite the aforementioned appearance in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Viridi's trophy is exclusive to Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.
Aside from Palutena's Guidance, Viridi also appears as a stage element in the Reset Bomb Forest stage of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Partway through the match, she fires a Reset Bomb, which detonates and transforms the stage into a forest. In the Sound Test, she is categorized under "Enemy" alongside stage hazard Metal Face and bosses Master Hand and Crazy Hand.
In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, there is a Mii Fighter wig and an outfit based on Viridi, with the latter being exclusive to Mii Swordfighter. These costumes were made available on September 30th, 2015 as paid DLC; they reappear in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and are now purchased from the Vault Shop.
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, there is a spirit of Viridi that reuses her Kid Icarus: Uprising artwork.
